The festival of Imbolc is an ancient Irish pagan festival, and is today closely associated with the start of Spring, 1 st Feb. and the Irish Saint Bridget.
Saint Brigit of Kildare (Irish: Naomh Bríd; c. 451–525), lived during the time of St. Patrick, our patron Saint.
Imbolc, translated from the gaelic means ‘in the belly’. Referring to the expected start of the lambing season, and a time of growth and renewal that Spring normally brings. Not much sign of that looking out of my window.
