Hello! I am Kristi, great-granddaughter of Eva Ozella Kelly (married Morrison) of a long line of South Carolina Kellys. Her father was Aris Kelly. His father was James Rosier Kelly. His father was Robert Kelly. His father was Jacob Kelly. At this point in the research, I encounter conflicting information on multiple James Kellys. Does anyone have any leads on this line? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! I'm trying to get it all together for my aunts and my mom in time for Christmas, which may prove to be a loftier goal than I originally thought.

Kristi we would need an idea of what part of Ireland your people came from. A lot of Kelly's left as a result of the Battle of Aughrim. Later more left because of the famine.

I'm not entirely sure. Other family trees on Ancestry.com show us to be of the Ui Maine Kellys, but the dates for Jacob Kelley seem strange to me, expecially in relation to those immediately before and after him. If it's true, the lineage they've got traces William Bui O Ceallaigh all the way to David "The Irishman" O'Killia. From there it's:
David O'Kelley (1672-1745), son of David O'Killia
Alaxander Kelley (1700-1780), son of David O'Kelley
James Kelley (1737-1790), son of Alexander Kelley
Jacob Kelley (1780-1874), son of James Kelley<---this is my weak link in dates..don't they seem off?
Robert Kelley (1820-1871), son of Jacob Kelley
I know without a doubt that the following is correct:
James Rosier Kelly (1858 Darlington, SC, USA-1911), son of Robert Kelley
Aris Kelly (1877-1970), son of James Rosier Kelly and my great-great grandfather
Eva Ozela Kelly Morrison (1902-1986), daughter of Aris Kelly and my great-grandmother
Dewey Morrison (1931-1961), son of Eva Ozela Kelly and my grandfather
Cynthia Morrison Agee (1957-present), daughter of Dewey Morrison and my mother
Kristi Agee (1985-present), daughter of Cynthia Morrison Agee (me!)

I feel like this is mostly speculation here, and I don't know that any of this information is helpful to you, but I appreciate any help I can get!

I found an error in my earlier research! We're still allegedly of the Ui Maine Kellys, and I found out why the James Kelleys were conflicting. Still, Jacob lived for a LONG time. And still, the lineage they've got traces William Bui O Ceallaigh all the way to David "The Irishman" O'Killia. From there it's:
David O'Kelley (1672-1745), son of David O'Killia
Alaxander Kelley (1700-1780), son of David O'Kelley
James Kelley (1737-1790), son of Alexander Kelley
James Black Kelley (1757-1820), son of James Kelley
Jacob Kelley (1780-1874), son of James Black Kelley
Robert Kelley (1820-1871), son of Jacob Kelley

I don't think we can do DNA because I'm related to my Kelly ancestors on the maternal side (my mom's paternal grandmother), so I was just hoping someone could verify this. But aren't we all?!
