I posted a bit ago that I was looking for a William Kelly. It turns out I was wrong. I have since learned that my great grandfather was a Thomas Kelly, born on June 8, 1859 in Poulmacrih Kilkeedy, Co. Clare. He died in New Jersey, USA in 1937. He married a Bridget Meehan, from a nearby village. They immigrated to the USA in 1885.

It's nice to finally have a place. I hope everyone has a grand time at the upcoming gathering of the clan. One day I hope to be able to visit Ireland and join you!

And with further poking, I have learned that my great grandmother Bridget Meehan was born on 24 December 1863 in Lisheen, Clare. Any of this familiar?

Perhaps. Right now I have more information about her husband Thomas but hope soon to talk to a distant cousin who is a Meehan. Thank you for Frank's name! It's always good to have someone specific to ask about.

I will make some enquiries when next I am in Ireland. I live in UK but come from Co Clare.
Any possibility of getting a male Family member to do a DNA test?
