Calling all Kelly’s,
We are Pat & Lilian Kelly, I am originally from Ruthland Avenue, Dolphins Barn, Dublin. On the death of our mother, my father relocated the family to England. I left Ireland when I was 16 years old, and due to my profession, had little or no contact with Ireland. over the years, I have only visited the country on 3-4 occasions.
It became quite apparent that if your ancestors were not land or property owners, there was little or no chance of ever finding your roots. This was due to the total lack of on line records of Irish Birth, Marriage and Death’s, However, over the years the flood gates of Irish records has opened, with the 1901 & 1911 census, and some of the inner Dublin Church records? But still the main building blocks of Irish Genealogy ( IE) the Birth, Marriage, and Death records of both State and Church are still been withheld, and is soo sad.
My wife Lilian, born in Coventry, England, started to research her family tree in the early 1990s, and managed to trace back to 1623? We then started on the Irish side of the family. Well, we all know about the Irish Brick Wall?
It was the issue of the 1901 census that cracked my case? My G,G, Grandfather Patrick Kelly had the sense to record his age (64) and where he was born, Stewartstown Co Tyrone.

Patrick Kelly married c1870? Elizabeth Lewis, and had the following Children:
All are recorded as born at Seaview Avenue, and Baptised at St John the Baptise RC church Clontarf.
Margaret Kelly – 16th Jan 1873 William Joseph Kelly – 05th Mar 1877
John Kelly – 8th Jun 1879 James Kelly – 19th Jul 1881
Mark Kelly – 15th Aug 1883 Elizabeth Kelly – 07th Apr 1886
Annie Kelly – 28th Jul 1889
My grandfather was Mark Kelly, B15/08/1883,
He married a Frances Caroline Levey, B06/09/1877 at Exeter City, Co Devon, England. (I cannot find their marriage details )?
My Father, Patrick Kelly was born 1906.
So there you have my family in a nut shell, I am lead to believe that some members of family emigrated? but as I have with no hard facts or dates to back this up, we just go on searching? I hope that somewhere in the wide world some of these names and dates will be will be recognised??
