My gggrandfather and gggrandmother came to the US from Ireland in the late 1700's or early 1800's. I do not know what country in Ireland they were from. Their names were Daniel and Elizabeth Kelley/kelly. I was told by my Father that we were considered the "black Irish" because we had black hair and blue eyes. I don't know if that is true or not. I just located the Kelley burial grounds in Missouri where my ancestors are buried. I am proud of my Irish ancestry. My grandfather was named James and he married an Emily Macdonald.
