Hello,
I am Kate Kelley-Howe... descended from David O'Killia of MA... through DNA from 2 cousins I have finally established my line comes from Ui Maine.... and I am descended from William Bui Ua Ceallaigh...
Hopefully some of you are just a tad dormant and will come to life... this is a great page and resource.

Hi Kate.
It's alway great to hear from a fellow Ui Mannian, especially one with a connection to Wm Bui.
If you look at the Ó Ceallaigh tree on "Tracing Kelly ..." you will see the connection to Maine Mor. Go to "Tracing Kelly's..." click "Kelly's from around the Country" then "Kelly's of Connaught" and select "Genealogy Tree" from the drop down. It's in PDF format and will expand.
I think our Kelly cousins are a bit reserved However keep posting.
Joe

Thanks for the welcome Joe....
here is my lineage, a bit rough perhaps as trying to decipher old information and wade through the good and bad material online leaves me with some mistakes I am sure.....
DNA however has finally helped me to continue the line back to Ireland.....
Would love any help and assistance if any care to offer....
Thank you again,
Kate Kelley-Howe

Hello Kate, I've just joined the site and your name caught my eye, precisely because I am just after commissioning a friend who is going to Jamaica in a few days to do some research on a cetain Dennis Kelly who was a governor there. This is of interest to me because I have reached the famous 'brick wall' in my own lineage. I don't know if you are aware of this Dennis Kelly but his daughter Elizabeth married Peter Browne the 2nd earl of Altamont from here in Westport. Their son John married Louisa Catherine, daughter and heiress of the famous English Admiral Earl Howe whiuch is why your name caught my eye and I wonder if there is a connection there. This interests me because in 1782 there is a register of electors for Westport and on it are three Kellys, John, Dan and Edmond. They are probably brothers but not neccesarily. This is the earliest record we have of Kellys in Westport and it seems most likely they are antecedents of mine, and it would seem probabe that they came to Westport shortly after the marriage of Elizabeth to Peter Browne. This is in the realm of speculation but I wonder if you might have any light to throw on the subject since there could be a browne connection with you...? In any event have a Happy Christmas and good fortune in 2015.
